August 5, 2002—Xtria, through its Xtria Healthcare business unit, announced Xtria Encompass, a complete solution set for HIPAA compliance and security. Xtria Healthcare has successfully implemented Xtria Entrust, a component of the Encompass solution set, for University Physicians Group (UPG), affiliated with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The Xtria Encompass solution set was originally introduced as X-HIPAA in February of this year.
Utilizing the Xtria Encompass solution set, healthcare providers and physician groups can effectively address the federal requirements for HIPAA compliance. The solution set addresses current HIPAA compliance issues and helps to maintain compliance in the future. Because of its easy integration with legacy systems, security and ongoing support, Xtria Encompass becomes an essential part of a healthcare provider’s operating systems.
Xtria Encompass is composed of two Web-based tools Xtria Insight (introduced as X-Assessment) and Xtria Empower (introduced as X-Training), and an application and data security tool—Xtria Entrust (introduced as X- Secure). Xtria Insight allows organizational units within a healthcare system to complete a HIPAA readiness self-assessment, organize existing policies and procedures, and manage the remediation of any “gaps” in compliance.
Xtria Empower is a Web-based HIPAA educational tool that delivers required content based on individual roles in an organization, tests for understanding, and directs the user back to the appropriate training material related to incorrectly answered questions. Xtria Entrust “wraps” existing information systems in an organization within a single security environment for enterprise-level security control. The Xtria Entrust solution includes the user authentication, roles-based access, encryption, and auditing required by the HIPAA legislation. Xtria Encompass is scalable and is seamlessly integrated with an organization’s existing systems.
