Southern Company announced that Southern Wholesale Energy, the marketing and trading arm representing Southern Company’s Southeast generating plants, recently signed a wholesale power supply contract to provide Dynegy with 260 megawatts of power.
Through its prominent position in energy marketing, power generation, transportation, gathering and processing, the company provides energy solutions to its customers primarily in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe. Including this agreement, the Dynegy electric generation portfolio now owns or controls more than 23,500 MW throughout North America.
This agreement is the second wholesale power agreement this year (2000) between Southern Wholesale Energy and Dynegy. In March, the two parties signed their first long-term agreement. For details: http://www.electricnet.com
