Herman Miller selected Quest’s newly released LiveReorg software for virtually downtime-free Oracle database reorganization. LiveReorg is the newest member of Quest’s High Availability product line, and the first of its kind that allows users to perform necessary database maintenance without having to take the database down. Before the adoption of LiveReorg, database reorganizations could be performed only during a scheduled maintenance window — often many hours — when the applications and users were off-line. “Our database objects have grown to a point where the amount of time it takes to run a reorganization exceeds the time window we have for maintenance,” said Jim Razmus, manager of databases for Herman Miller, Inc.
