For the second year in a row, KI was presented with a Sun Microsystem 2000 Supplier Performance Award. The noted contract furniture manufacturer was applauded for being “an integral supplier” to Sun Microsystems for all office furniture in the US for the past six years. KI, the award stated, not only interfaces with Sun employees, but also with Sun contractors, often acting as the conduit between the two. Among the other award recipients were Hewlett Packard, Samsung Electronics, and United Parcel Service.
In another awards program, KI was selected “site of the week” by www.coolhomepages.com. The award-winning, fresh design from KI has many user-friendly options, such as: IBIS, KI’s internet-based inquiry system, which contains a Web library of more than 5,000 documents for architects, designers, dealers; on-line purchasing of more than 5400 KI products; click-to-talk technology by Cisco systems for on-line customer service and sales support. Additionally, KI has used the technology to host cyberseminar events for the contract design community. KI received the honor along with sites dedicated to Audi, Skittles, Jennifer Lopez, Jet Blue Airways, Logitech, and US Air Force.
