Northeast Utilities, New England’s largest electric utility system, has adopted an outage management program that speeds reaction time by utilizing the RemoteData wireless mobile data solution from Pennsylvania-based Padcom Inc.
The RemoteData solution provides Northeast Utilities with a comprehensive source for its network connection needs, and enables Northeast Utilities to leverage its existing network and equipment. Before the plan, each of the Northeast Utilities electric operating subsidiaries had its own network. Now, instead of having multiple modem vendors, the subsidiaries will have just one.
