Dow AgroSciences offer environmentally responsible alternative to liquid termiticide

Dow AgroSciences, a provider of pest management and biotechnology products, recently unveiled a new termite baiting system that eliminates the need for hundreds of gallons of environmentally harmful liquid termiticide to be spread in and around facilities.

The Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System has been evaluated by and is now listed with the Southern Building Code Congress International as a complete stand-alone alternative to liquid termiticide treatments. It uses only grams of chemical in a targeted, low-impact area—providing continuous defense against termites by eliminating attacking colonies and monitoring for future invasions.

Unlike liquid termiticides, which are applied during construction before the slab or basement is poured, the Sentricon System is installed after final grading. It has been tested nationwide in residential and commercial installations and by more than fifteen universities and government laboratories.

The system has received one of the federal government’s top environmental honors, the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award, and was the first product approved under the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Reduced Risk Pesticide Initiative.

The Sentricon System is available through authorized pest management companies. To locate an authorized company, builders can contact Dow AgroSciences.
