New SMART Board Software is available in five languages: English, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese. By SMART Technologies Inc. and USB supported, the new software works with all of the firm’s interactive whiteboards, including the SMART Board, Rear Projection SMART Board, and SMART Board for Plasma Displays. The English version can be obtained as a free download to SMART customers worldwide, with the other languages available very shortly.
SMART recently introduced the proprietary USB adapter cable that allows SMART Board users to take advantage of the benefits of USB, including hot-swap and simple installation with one cable providing data and power to the Board. Together, the new SMART Board Software and cable provide a complete USB solution.
With the new software, users can control computer applications simply by pressing on the Board’s touch-sensitive surface—no special tools are required to operate the SMART Board. When a stylus is selected from the SMART Pen Tray, users can write over top of any application using either their finger or the stylus.
