British Standards publishes new guides to cleaning management

Two new British Standards will be available next month to help facilities and health and safety managers to assess the quality of cleaning performance. The first, published in early July, 2001, is titled: ‘Cleaning Services: Basic requirements and recommendations for quality measuring systems’ (66). The second will be available towards the end of July, titled ‘Guide to BS EN 13549’ (20).

According to the British Standards Institution, the publications outline what should be inspected, how inspections should be carried out, and which measurement criteria should be used.
