November 29, 2001—Within the framework of its purchasing optimization plan, the Hochtief international construction group has added MGE UPS SYSTEMS, a provider of high-availability power solutions, to its tight list of “preferred subcontractors.” The agreement will be initially applied in the United States, Germany, and China by the end of 2001, before extension to the different regions around the world. MGE earned this recognition by supplying high quality solutions to Turner Logistics, a US subsidiary of Hochtief, on the Internet infrastructure markets. MGE UPSs Andr Rouyer, Corporate Director Global Strategic Accounts for MGE UPS points out that “our international structure is comparable to that of the Hochtief Group, which will ensure a mutual understanding and the responsiveness that is often decisive in this sort of partnership.”
Further, explains Manfred Engle, Senior Vice-President Procurement of Hochtief Group, “MGE UPS launched a purchasing optimization operation covering the entire Hochtief Group that will lead to the creation of an E-procurement platform bringing together 200 carefully selected partners.”
