January 25, 2002—During the past five years, Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) has relied on Peregrine Systems’ Action Request System platform to customize and manage its Remedy Helpdesk and Remedy Change Management applications. With the recent introduction of Peregrine’s Action Request System 5.0 platform, REI is migrating those applications to the AR System 5.0 platform. REI, a national retailer and online merchant of outdoor gear and clothing, can now add Web capabilities and integrate these applications with external databases.
REI reports that the AR System 5.0 improves the AR System foundation by adding Web-authoring capabilities without requiring any HTML programming. Further, the integration with external databases reduces time spent on data importing and exporting into the existing Peregrine applications.
AR System 5.0. includes new data encryption products and updates to the entire AR System product suite, which includes Wireless and Palm, Approval Server, Migrator, and the Distributed Server Option.
