February 18, 2002—Elcom International, an international provider of remotely hosted eProcurement and private eMarketplace solutions, has formed an alliance with HCI Systems, a provider of facilities and asset management solutions, to provide a total asset lifecycle management solution for companies in service-oriented vertical markets such as financial services, utilities, municipalities, and government units. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Elcom will host and provide its customers with access to HCI’s asset management applications—Building Blocks, iPlan, iRequest, and Walkabout Palm OS Suite—to complement Elcom’s flagship eProcurement solution, PECOS Internet Procurement Manager. HCI will offer PECOS Internet Procurement Manager to its current and future customer base on a referral basis.
Combining HCI and Elcom’s solutions addresses the need for a more comprehensive approach to lifecycle management. HCI’s Building Blocks makes it easier for FMs and systems administrators to manage large multi-facility sites, issue work orders, control inventories, allocate resources, assess the conditions of every asset, and intelligently plan for upcoming budget requirements and the system-wide operations and maintenance of facilities. iPlan provides administrators with a powerful tool that automates the time-consuming process of developing a strategic plan, maintaining an accurate and real-time assessment of capital renewal needs, establishing priorities based on objective models, and managing the associated corrective actions and projects. iRequest improves customer service and streamlines work with the ability to create, send, and check status on requests for services, goods, and supplies.
