New STI lockable covers prevent tampering of thermostats and energy sensors

May 29, 2002—Safety Technology International, Inc. has unveiled a new universal protective cover to help stop abuse of thermostats, mini thermostats and energy sensors. The Thermostat Protector replaces three units of various sizes. Molded of clear, thick, heavy-duty polycarbonate material, it is recommended for areas where abuse is a problem. This may include vandalism, accidental damage or tampering by employees.

Holes in the frame allow air to circulate freely for proper operation of a thermostat but does not allow for tampering to the thermostat with a small object. Cover is especially useful when protected unit is located in a public area. The device is easy to install for either flush-mount or surface-mount installations. This new cover is available in five varieties to accommodate large, small, flush and surface mount applications. All covers come standard with a key lock.

The polycarbonate covers is backed by a lifetime guarantee against breakage and damage in normal use. STI also offers a protector for circular thermostats. For more information, contact STI.
