ARCHIBUS adds emergency preparedness to its management software

October 25, 2002—Latest enhancements by ARCHIBUS Inc. to its ARCHIBUS/FM Enterprise Edition, Version 12.2 is fully compatible with Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2002; Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere 8, Oracle 9i, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional. It also includes a new emergency preparedness application, additional language options, and improved usability features.

The new emergency preparedness application, a fully integrated part of the ARCHIBUS/FM suite, allows organizations to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a disaster. The application leverages facilities and infrastructure information residing in the ARCHIBUS/FM database to help organizations deliver critical information that can minimize the loss of life and property during a crisis. This information can be used to create detailed response and recovery plans.

The new ARCHIBUSFM Version 12.2 release is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Korean, and Norwegian. Each translation includes all the functionality of the original ARCHIBUS/FM Version 12 solution, including the capability to integrate data from other sources such as People Soft and SAP; a Work Wizard tool that streamlines the entire work order process; and Workflow Controller Solutions that automatically direct the information flow cross desktop computers, database servers, e-mail systems, and handheld devises for enhanced enterprise-wide communication.

Enterprise features, such as Virtual Private ARCHIBUS, are ideal for global applications. For example, even on a centralized database, users in England see only data for English campuses, and users in Germany see only data on German campuses. The system also supports rapid definition of multiple currency data-entry, and unified reports show both metric and imperial units.

ARCHIBUS products were displayed at the October IFMA World Workplace conference in Toronto. For more information, contact ARCHIBUS.
