January 19, 2004—MicroMain Corp., a provider of asset and facility management software and services, and Stilwell & Associates, a developer of maintenance safety software, have partnered to offer an integrated, more efficient maintenance and safety management system.
MicroMain’s flagship product, MicroMain XM, is a computerized maintenance management/enterprise asset management system. It enables organizations to streamline maintenance operations with automated work orders, preventive maintenance scheduling, asset tracking, and inventory control. Stilwell & Associates develops TagLink Maintenance Safety Software that integrates with MicroMain XM. This new class of industrial software computerizes the lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work-permit processes that create a safe environment for maintenance.
Lockout/tagout processes, for example, isolate energy and control machinery and equipment so that employees can perform maintenance tasks safely. Unexpected start-up of the machinery during maintenance could expose maintenance personnel to live energy hazards, leading to injury or death. Using locks and tags to isolate the machinery avoids those hazards. The TagLink software manages the daily operations for lockout/tagout, including automatically creating a history of lockout/tagout activity.
