May 12, 2004—Synergis Software, a division of Synergis Technologies, is now shipping version 5.2 of its award-winning engineering document management solution, Synergis Adept. Tightly integrated inside each design application, Adept’s document management tools provide AutoCAD 2005, Autodesk Inventor 8 Series, Autodesk Inventor Professional 8, and SolidWorks 2004 users the ability to find and manage data, ensure revision control, and control access to information on a LAN, WAN, or the Internet.
Adept 5.2 provides greater flexibility for work in progress design and tighter CAD integration; it features Shared Work Areas, a new real time design and collaboration environment, as well as other customer-requested features that enhance performance and productivity. Synergis says designers will be better able to interpret and incorporate design changes and eliminate duplicate work.
For powerful viewing capabilities, the new release includes an updated version of its Cimmetry AutoVue 2D/3D viewer, which enables users to view AutoCAD 2005 DWG, Inventor 8 IDW, and Autodesk DWF files. The Adept viewer extends a company’s ability to collaborate with project teams, contractors and customers over a LAN, WAN, or across the Internet.
Synergis Adept software is tailored toward the demands of engineering departments that need to manage, view, redline, track revisions, and share work-in-progress 2D/3D drawings, parts, and assemblies. Adept automatically extracts attributes, xrefs, and properties from AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and SolidWorks files and “learns” about the relationships between drawing, xref, assembly, and part files. Synergis says Adept is simple to implement in a workgroup environment, between engineering and non-engineering departments, or across the entire organization.
Adept 5.2 is available worldwide at a suggested retail price of US $995/concurrent license. An annual software subscription, which ensures customers all new product releases for 12 months at no additional charge, is available for $179/concurrent license. Customers on subscription can upgrade to Adept 5.2 at no charge. The software is available directly from Synergis and through strategic resellers across the US.
