American Bicycle Security introduces first stackable bike locker

May 24, 2004—American Bicycle Security Company, one of the largest makers of bicycle security systems in the world, has recently expanded their product line to include a stackable bike locker.

The 8.2-foot high unit provides both users, and administrators, with many benefitsmost notably, this design helps to provide the maximum amount of bicycle parking while only taking up a limited amount of space. The lockers are also constructed out of fiberglass reinforced plastic, rather than metal, so administrators dont have to worry about the lockers rotting out, rusting, or heating up because of the elements.

The lockers also feature a crowned roof which allows water to run off and not pool up on the top of the lower unit or inside the bottom of the upper unit so users can be confident that their bikes will be totally protected, and will not rust.

Cyclists who are accustomed to lifting their bike onto the roof of their car should have no problem loading their bikes into the top of the locker. Once the rear wheel is raised and backed into the unit they can easily roll their bike further back into the locker. As an added benefit, the upper level locker of the units are specifically outfitted with a locking system in the lower right corner, so the user doesnt have to reach up to unlock or operate the system.

American Bicycle Security Companys 300 and 350 series lockers can be used with the stackable option. Like all of their products, the double-decker units are available in many different colors or they can be customized to match a specified color. The price of the double-decker unit adds $85 to $120 to the cost of a standard locker.
