January 3, 2005—The Cleaver-Brooks Company has received full Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Canadian Underwriters Laboratories (cUL) package approval for its Promethean model 4WI-NT ultra-low nitrous oxide (NOx) steam and hot water firetube boilers covering a range from 100 to 800 boiler horsepower. A number of Cleaver-Brooks technical and combustion engineering capabilities combine to deliver an Ultra-Low Nitrous Oxide (ULNOx(TM)) capability that reduces emissions and results in cleaner air.
NOx reduction is critically important for the environment and for public health because NOx is a precursor to smog formation when combined with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other contaminants in the presence of sunlight.
Cleaver-Brooks has developed the environmental benefits of ULNOx technology by combining boilers, controls and low NOx burners with an integral front head design that also acts as the air supply plenum for combustion. Cleaver-Brooks boilers operate with exceptionally high fuel to steam/water efficiencies.
Cleaver-Brooks Company is the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial boilers, controls and accessories critical to the operations of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
