Noncommercial courses offered on legionella, other waterborne pathogens

August 19, 2005—HC Information Resources is offering it noncommercial course on “Legionella and Other Waterborne Pathogens: Minimizing Risk in Building Water Systems,” as well as other courses, as seminars open to the public as well as in individual workplaces. The courses arm attendees with knowledge to reduce the health and legal risk associated with legionella and other waterborne pathogens in hospitals, hotels, and other buildings.

The courses are designed for FMs; safety officers; infection control professionals; industrial hygienists, public health officials; plumbing inspectors, code officials, engineers and contractors; water treatment specialists; and those in related fields.

If the interest in legionnaires’ prevention is high enough in an area to attract 20 or more attendees (40 or more outside the US and Canada), and if a meeting facility can be arranged, HC Information Resources can hold a legionella seminar in that city. HC can provide its standard two-day comprehensive course for a mixed group (health officials, hospital personnel, plumbing engineers, water treatment professionals, industrial hygienists, etc.), its standard one-day course for engineers, maintenance personnel, and technicians; or tailor a one-day or partial-day course for a specific audience.

Private training is also possible, with discounts possible for corporations, hospital networks, public agencies, or professional societies that wish to arrange private training for their employees or members. A custom-designed seminar can be provided either in person with an instructor, as a live Internet presentation (even with employees in different countries), or as a live audio presentation (by telephone).

In addition, 90-minute satellite courses are available for individual workplaces. These interactive courses are held as Internet seminars: participants watch a live slide presentation on the Internet while listening to the instructor by telephone. A recording of the seminar is available for purchase afterwards. The courses qualify for about 0.15 CEUs. Each course is $159. Various courses are available–visit online for titles, dates, and content.
