September 2, 2005—Whitestone Research’s newly released version 6 of the MARS Facility Maintenance Cost Forecast System includes enhanced asset tracking, calibration for safety and security requirements, and data import capability, according to the company, which adds that all cost data have been revised for 2005-2006.
MARS 6 is the current version of Whitestone’s popular tool for forecasting maintenance and repair costs and projecting facility-funding requirements. MARS is increasingly used to estimate deferred maintenance based on component life cycle cost principles. Whitestone says that actual experience has shown MARS estimates fall within 10 percent of traditional assessment inspections, at less than half the cost.
Prospective users can schedule a full on-line demonstration of MARS 6 features.
