Unilever chooses Nedap AEOS access control for headquarters

October 17, 2005—Unilever has opted for Nedap AEOS access control for its corporate head office in the Netherlands. The modular and scalable architecture and the state-of-the art innovating technology were the main factors leading to the Nedap security management solution.

Nedap’s Arjan Bouter says, “For AEOS, we use Java as the platform for both the application and the embedded software because of the dynamic hardware-independent and platform-independent properties. The result is a user-friendly Web-based system with full administration capability for incoming and outgoing visitors, contractors, employees, and vehicles.

Specific functions run as behavioral components in the form of Java objects.

If the system is enhanced with new peripheral equipment, only the additional Java object is to be written and loaded. Unilever is provided with a scalable solution perfectly meeting the company’s security needs, today and in the future.”
