PowerCold announces new EPA Energy Star initiatives

November 30, 2005—PowerCold Corporation has introduced new US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star initiatives to help customers reduce operating costs and earn Energy Star labels, the company says.

The initiatives include generating new Energy Star partnerships, obtaining the Designed to Earn the Energy Star label for building design, and helping owners earn the Energy Star for Commercial Buildings label. The plan targets new and existing commercial facilities designed with PowerCold’s proprietary Environmental Air Treatment System, including hotels, nursing homes, health care facilities and office buildings.

PowerCold is an Energy Star Service and Product Provider (SPP) Partner and is listed in the Energy Star registry of approved providers. The company’s proprietary HVAC system has supported four hotel awards and has helped the Wingate Inn in Bozeman, Montana, earn the Energy Star Small Business Award in 2004.

According to the EPA, US saving 30% of energy costs is equivalent to increasing the net operating income by 4%, supporting a 4% increase in asset value. Additionally, for new construction, an integrated design approach can achieve energy savings of 25-50% and reduce the size of HVAC equipment by 10-25%.

PowerCold designs, develops and markets unique HVAC products and systems for commercial and industrial use. PowerCold’s proprietary energy efficient products are designed to provide a clean comfort air environment and significantly reduce power costs by up to 50% for air conditioning, refrigeration and on-site building power.
