New modular operating room combines particulate control, UVC technology

February 7, 2006—Krueger has introduced a new SterilFlex modular air distribution system for operating rooms that combines the most stringent level of cleanroom particulate control with the proven germicidal benefits of Steril-Aire UVC technology, says the company.

Made of high-grade modular aluminum components, it allows maximum flexibility at a more economical cost than customized stainless steel systems, the company says.

Krueger has integrated UVC devices from Steril-Aire, Inc., the leader in UVC technology, to ensure that operating room air will be safer and cleaner than ever before.

Installed in the plenum module, the high output UVC Emitters destroy 99.9 percent of airborne infectious disease organisms and contaminants not trapped by the HEPA filters, including all types of viruses, bacteria and mold spores.

Each SterilFlex module is engineered to fit precisely into an Integra-grid frame that is compatible with all types of ceiling configurations and offers a choice of inlet positions.
