Online GuideSafe gives instant access to emergency information

March 5, 2007—A new online system that gives building owners and tenants instant access to procedures for dealing with a wide variety of emergency incidents was introduced recently by Prepared Response, Inc.

The Web-based tenant safety solution, called GuideSafe, better prepares office workers to deal with emergencies ranging from broken water pipes, fires, and earthquakes to violent intruders and terrorist incidents, says the company. The system is designed to bridge the gap until help arrives.

Crises such as September 11 and Hurricane Katrina led to the development of GuideSafe because they demonstrated a general lack of tenant preparedness and brought to light the inability of occupants to access crucial information during an emergency. With GuideSafe, tenants simply click a red icon on their computer desktop to instantly access easy-to-understand safety procedures specific to their building.

The safety instructions, which can be customized by property managers, provide simple instructions of “what-to-do” during fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, hazmat spills, violent intruders, and other possible crises.

GuideSafe is a Web 2.0 product, meaning that no software is purchased or downloaded. It is accessed via the Web and data can be easily updated at all times by property managers via any Internet browser.

GuideSafe is available for a 30-day trial. For more information, see the Web site.
