Farnek Avireal expands energy savings solutions by reducing electricity consumption

March 23, 2007—Farnek Avireal has expanded its operations in the Middle East with the launch of Energy Saving Module “System 4000.” The high-tech intelligent energy saving solution is designed specifically to reduce the electricity consumption and maximum demand of refrigeration and air conditioning systems to the benefit of building owners and the environment.

The Energy Saving Module (ESM) “System 4000” reduces electricity consumption and the maximum demand of refrigeration and air conditioning systems by improving their performance and maintaining temperature control. The company points out that during recent field trials in Dubai, it achieved savings of between 15 and 25 percent. The optimum solution to cut electricity costs ensures quality and performance with a return on investment in excess of 50 percent per annum, says the company.

The company states that ESM interfaces with all types and makes of air conditioning and refrigeration controllers, from the simple thermostat single condensing systems to the most sophisticated computer based multiple compressor parallel systems.

Building maintenance engineers will set the desired temperature using a range of values called “dead band” above and below the average temperature they wish to achieve This avoids having the compressors stopping and starting too often as the temperature fluctuates during the night and day, and it ultimately prolongs the life of the compressors.

With this data, ESM computes a reference heat load to match the cooling capacity and then calculates variable operating parameters called Load Proportional Differential Adjustment (LPDA), LPDA minimizes compressor operation with the absolute switching values, with a resultant reduction in compressor run time, reduced electricity consumption while maintaining the required temperature.

Farnek Avireal is joint venture between Zurich-based real estate and facilities management company Avireal AG, along with its local business partner Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group and Farnek, a leading local facilities management services provider.
