Dri-Eaz’s new HygroTrac remotely finds moisture, helps prevent damage

September 28, 2007—Dri-Eaz has teamed up with GE Protimeter to offer a remote, wireless system for monitoring moisture levels in buildings. The new HygroTrac continuously measures building-wide humidity, temperature, moisture levels and other data necessary for managing indoor environments and preventing damage from water intrusion, says Dri-Eaz.

With the HygroTrac system, moisture problems and potential water hazards can be identified in real time, enabling quick and effective response to prevent further damage. The building’s indoor environment can be managed from the user’s desk.

According to Dri-Eaz, the HygroTrac is ideal for tracking humidity and temperature in spaces where maintaining indoor air quality is critical or where sensitive equipment and processes must be protected from moisture damage, such as healthcare, data telecommunications, and manufacturing areas.

The HygroTrac system includes a main router unit plus 10 lithium battery-powered wireless moisture sensors that can be set up at various locations within a structure. Sensors can be placed up to 500 feet away from the main gateway, and the system can be expanded with additional sensors if desired. The HygroTrac transmits data securely through the Internet, which means the user always has access to constant, real-time data of atmospheric and moisture conditions. Data can be accessed via the HygroTrac Web site anytime, from anywhere.
