Global Warming Solutions says new technology boosts solar conversion efficiency

November 9, 2007—Global Warming Solutions, Inc., a developer of technologies aimed at mitigating the effects of global warming, has announced the successful development of a more efficient solar energy conversion technology.

The new technology will increase efficiency 11-15%—a significant development in a field accustomed to moving forward in small increments, says the company.

The increased conversion efficiency comes about as the result of a novel organic polymer coating for solar cells developed by Global Warming Solutions. Application of this coating to the surface of a commercial solar cell increases the market value of that cell by more than 60 cents per watt, while raising manufacturing expenses only 10 cents a watt, according to Global Warming Solutions.

The technology can be easily integrated into existing solar panel manufacturing technologies, the company notes.

Global Warming Solutions develops and commercializes technologies that help mitigate Global Warming and its effect on our planet.
