ARAMARK and Amerex partner on energy and environmental offerings

November 26, 2007—ARAMARK Corporation, a world leader in providing professional services, has announced a national partnership with Amerex Energy Services to provide clients with an array of energy services, including the purchase of renewable energy credits (REC).

Together, ARAMARK and Amerex say they will offer a broad portfolio of options to help businesses reduce energy use and cost-effectively procure energy resources. Services offered include conducting energy audits, developing energy reduction strategies, negotiating contracts with electricity and natural gas providers, training facility staff on energy efficiency, and providing ongoing insight into the energy market.

The companies will also assist institutions with the purchase of RECs. RECs represent units of energy expended by a business which, when purchased, are invested into renewable energy solutions such as wind power, water power and solar energy. A growing number of institutions are purchasing RECs as a way to minimize their impact on the environment and affect climate change.

ARAMARK provides comprehensive facility services for higher education institutions, school districts, health care institutions, and businesses throughout the United States. Its portfolio includes energy management program development, utility procurement analysis and strategies, and utility master planning. The company also provides central plant and utility infrastructure management, electrical and power distribution management, and building management, as well as building commissioning and construction management. The company maintains more than 1.6 billion square feet of facility spworldwide.

Amerex Energy Services, a division of Amerex Brokers LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GFI Group Inc. is a national energy consultant that works with retail electric providers and wholesale power suppliers to procure energy for its clients.
