January 25, 2008—Interfor Inc. unveiled its physical security certification program recently, which allows private sector clients to evaluate and test their physical security systems, procedures and protocols.
The company, an investigation and security-consulting firm, created the program to provide private organizations with an objective, third-party review of their security programs, possibly resulting in lower insurance costs, said Don Aviv, chief operating officer of Interfor Inc.
Interfor says it goes to an organization and assesses its physical security systems, protocols and procedures inside and out. Interfor assess everything that touches physical security, HR, personnel, ID programs, hiring or firing, executive protection, exterior protection and so on to improve its physical security.
Once a company is certified it receives the Interfor Inc. logo that it can display on its Web site as proof of the certification. Intefor will conduct yearly assessments of the company for recertification.
