American Ultraviolet introduces germicidal lamp and ballast for improved indoor air quality

May 1, 2006—American Ultraviolet Company has introduced the Eliminator 14/24 Series germicidal lamp and ballast for surface and air purification. The 14-inch lamp, which operates on 24-volts, operates from inside the air conditioning unit to purify the air conditioning coil, and air stream, reducing the potential of airborne and surface bacteria, mold and other microorganisms in residential and commercial environments, says the company.

The lamp is available in 14-inch and 16-inch arc lengths and has a five-foot cable from the ballast to the lamp. The Eliminator14/24 Series ships complete, with a mounting bracket and hardware that makes it very easy to install.

The Eliminator 14/24 Series enables direct exposure to 254nm UVC radiation, which, when given appropriate exposure time, inactivates the DNA and RNA of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, mold spores, yeast and protozoa), making them unable to reproduce.

Since 1960, American Ultraviolet Company has manufactured quality ultraviolet equipment for the disinfection of air, liquids and surfaces throughout the world. For more information, visit the company Web site.
