March 3, 2008—At the Consumer Products Carbon Footprint conference, the supply chain management experts and WSP’s environmental consultancy pooled their talents to help companies of all sizes take stock of the emissions associated with every step in their supply chains.
The partnership brings together the sustainability module of Aravo’s Supplier Information Management (SIM) software and services with WSP’s expertise in shaping business practices to minimize the environmental impact of globalized supply chains.
The Sustain module is a environmentally focused addition to Aravo’s core product, the SIM system, an online suite of tools and resources that help companies of all sizes quickly get a handle on the complexity of managing a supply chain.
Where the SIM system is focused purely on business operations, the Sustain module incorporates environmental, labor and social concerns to the platform, helping companies implement green procurement goals, monitor the use of toxic substances in their products, compliance with international regulations including REACH and RoHS and, in this case especially, monitor the carbon output of suppliers and contractors.
The partnership is launching with a free, 90-day trial of the service, enabling companies to get a quick grasp on the overall carbon footprint of their operations, and then work with WSP’s Environment and Energy group to shape solutions to shrink that footprint.
More information about the program is available at Aravo’s Web site.
