August 27, 2003—ecoglo, creator of glow-in-the-dark path-finding strips that are used in stadiums, arenas and theaters has developed a line of electricity-free products that can be used to illuminate high-traffic and emergency exit areas that have become dark.
Ecoglo creates strips that under normal conditions, absorb overhead lights, and in darkness glows brightly in the dark for several hours and can be used on stairway edging and handrails. Under normal lighting, ecoglo strips can also aid in stairway edge differentiation.
Composed of aluminum and photo luminescent pigment, the light system enables facility managers, building and fire safety specialists and architects to safer public-use spaces.
