December 28, 2001—Evive Corporation, a provider of biometric access solutions, has entered into an alliance with Identix Inc., a provider of fingerprint biometric user authentication, security and identification solutions.
Evive will offer Identix’ fingerprint biometric Fingerscan V20 hardware and Identix’ FingerLan(TM) IV software in combination with its FingerAccess systems to provide building owners and their tenants a comprehensive finger-biometric solution that helps protect against unauthorized access and intrusion.
According to Evive, the combination of Identix’ technology and Evive’s FingerAccess biometric security systems offers benefits over traditional security systems, which rely on secret knowledge that can be forgotten or hacked (e.g., a password or pin-number) or a unique object (e.g., a swipe card or key) that can be lost, borrowed or stolen. Instead, FingerAccess scans the features of each individual’s finger to help guarantee that only authorized personnel have access to secure areas.
