Based on the size and attendance levels of sports stadiums, arenas, gyms, guidelines have been compiled to help you determine how many staff members are required to keep the facility clean. The following serve only as guidelines; you must develop your own, or adjust these, based on performance and experience.
- 1,000 & under — 5-7 staffers
- 5,000 & under — 10-15 staffers
- 10,000 & under — 15 staffers
- 20,000 & under — 20 staffers
- 40,000 & under — 30 staffers
- 65,000 & under — 45-60 staffers
- Over 70,000 — 2 additional staffers for each 5,000 more attendees.
These figures apply to large indoor seating areas only. Excluded are suites, boxes, offices and restrooms. Outdoor seating areas normally require 30% fewer staffers because water hose/pressure washers can be used.
