October 23, 2006 —ARCHIBUS, Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive infrastructure and facilities management solutions worldwide, has released the latest release of its comprehensive software solution, ARCHIBUS/FM Version 16.2, the company announced.
Version 16.2 provides tighter AutoCAD integration, greater ease of use features, and is now available in its English version. It will be available in French, Spanish, and German editions by the end of 2006.
New features include:
- ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007. The Editor for AutoCAD 2007 reads and writes native AutoCAD 2007 DWG files directly, so users can build directly on work from their architects or drafting staff, and vice versa.
- Click to Zoom. No matter the scale of the drawing or asset library, clicking on assets in ARCHIBUS/FM results in the enterprise database automatically locating the right drawing and zooming into the relevant area of the plan for the current selection.
- Save as Drawing View in DWG Viewer. ARCHIBUS/FM 16.2 provides the optional DWG ARCHIBUS/FM Viewer for AutoCAD 2007, an updated component that reads native DWG files from AutoCAD and ADT and intrinsically meshes their contents with data from the enterprise information model.
- Dimensioning. The ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007 includes support for 2D dimensioning.
- External References. The ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007 and the ARCHIBUS/FM Viewer for AutoCAD 2007 provide support for external references in the V.16 platform.
In addition to the language updates, the ARCHIBUS/FM V.16.2 infrastructure and facilities management solution also features enhanced performance and more user-friendly features including:
- Integrated, Web-accessible Documentation. All ARCHIBUS/FM documentation is now online, organized in a single table-of-contents, and searchable from a single dialog.
- New “Getting Results” Section. Within each domain, the documentation now lists the distinct business activities that sites often choose to automate as well as the pre requisites, results, and organizational titles with a stake in the results. The associated Process Navigator documentation discusses which tools — Web, Windows, or CAD — are needed to achieve those goals and presents instructions on how to do so.
Worldwide, the ARCHIBUS/FM Business Partner Network of over 1600 infrastructure and facilities professionals supports ARCHIBUS/FM in over two dozen languages. It is available in over 130 countries and used by over 3,000,000 users. For more information, see the Web site and see the ad on FMLink.
