Stevens Roofing provides Elvaloy-based high-performance roofing

August 22, 2003—Stevens Roofing Systems, a global supplier of heat-weldable thermoplastic roofing systems, is now manufacturing its own 45- and 60-mil Stevens EV, an Elvaloy-based single-ply roofing membrane.

Elvaloy, manufactured by DuPont, is ketone ethylene ester (KEE), an advanced solid-phase thermoplastic modifier that locks itself into the molecular structure of base materials such as PVC. When compounded with PVC, Elvaloy improves the processing and provides the material with permanent flexibility. Elvaloy often replaces liquid plasticizers or other lower-performing flexibilizers that can oxidize or migrate out of the material.

White Stevens EV meets the ASTM 4434 specification and is available in 45- and 60-mil (nominal) thickness (1.14, 1.52 mm) and packaged in standard roll widths of 76.5-inches wide x 100-feet long. In addition, Stevens EV is available in 38.25-inch wide half sheets. Warranties are available with terms from five to 20 years.
