The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) published its revised energy conservation standard for buildings, titled ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-199 Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. The standard reflects the many advances in design and technology since the original standard was published a decade ago. According to ASHRAE, this standard will cut energy use in new buildings by as much as 16%.
