July 21, 2025 – Barge Design Solutions, an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas, has just announced its acquisition of Carlisle Associates, a Columbia, South Carolina-based firm specializing in architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. The acquisition expands Barge’s presence in South Carolina and strengthens its capabilities in the growing industrial design and engineering sector.
Founded in 1977, Carlisle Associates brings nearly five decades of experience in industrial design and a strong track record of delivering projects that meet both immediate and long-term client needs. Known for long-standing client relationships and specialized expertise in complex facilities — such as those involving hazardous materials and specialized utilities — Carlisle’s team has built a reputation for practical, purpose-driven solutions that support performance, efficiency, and safety.
