BOMA and IREM Pursue Joint Benchmark Survey

Seeking to preserve the rich history of both organization’s’ benchmark documents, while being responsive to membership requests that there be a joint survey instrument for office building income and expense experiences, Rick Baier, President of BOMA International and Mike Simmons, President of IREM have announced the creation of a special task force to develop a joint survey instrument for their organizations’ respective benchmark documents.

In a joint statement, the Association Presidents stated, “We know that this joint survey instrument will be warmly welcomed by our members, many of whom we share in common. We want to make it clear that the joint survey instrument will be ready for data collection for the 2001 editions of our respective benchmarking studies which reflect 2000 data. The Joint Task Force we have created will be comprised of three volunteer leaders and two staff members from each organization. They will begin working immediately with a reporting deadline of March 1 so that the joint survey may be used in 2001.”
