October 25, 2005—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a leading manufacturer of systems designed to organize, store and secure IT infrastructure equipment, has expanded its line of cabinets, cable management products and accessories, providing a complete data center solution, the company says.
The Enhanced SteelFrame Cabinet is the most recent addition to the CPI line and offers a variety of standard features that aid in cooling. Designed as a modular system, the Enhanced SteelFrame Cabinet achieves further cooling capabilities with the External Cable Manager, Therma-Stop Brush Side Panel, Solid Side Panel, and Airflow Duct, according to CPI.
The new External Cable Manager is used to manage network, power and peripheral cables outside of the cabinet space. By managing cables outside of the rack-mount space, efficient airflow is maintained, resulting in cooler equipment. The External Cable Manager attaches to the side of the cabinet and includes front and rear vertical cable management troughs and four front-to-rear horizontal cable troughs.
The Therma-Stop Brush Side Panel can be used in between the Enhanced SteelFrame Cabinet and External Cable Manager. The brushed openings in the side panel allow cables to pass easily between the cabinet and cable manager, while preventing airflow between cabinets, says CPI.
To secure equipment and help control airflow CPI’s Solid Side Panel can be used on the end of cabinet bays.
CPI’s new Airflow Duct is used to isolate hot air from the room as part of a closed return cooling system. The new CPI KoldLok Raised Floor Grommet seals cable openings in raised floors, preventing the loss of cold air through cable pass-through holes in raised floor tiles.
