Eltek Valere’s new system triples power output for back-up power applications

August 13, 2007—Eltek Valere describes its new Compact 130V DC Power System as a breakthrough DC power system that brings small size and high efficiency to utility and industrial back-up power applications. The power system is only 2RU (rack units) high, but provides up to 50 amps of output current, up to triple the power levels of competing systems, according to Eltek Valere.

The solution is designed for applications where a reliable 130V DC power source is critical, such as materials processing, utility switching, construction sites, mining locations and water and waste treatment sites. With its 92% power conversion efficiency and -40C to +65C operating range, the Compact 130V DC Power System emits 35% less waste heat and is an ideal power solution for demanding environments.

The base power shelf has room for up to five Eltek Valere L Series rectifiers, which offer 10 amps of output each. Up to two power shelves may be integrated with a distribution panel to create a high power solution using common components. The scalability of the system allows it to grow with the needs of the remote site — without requiring expensive retrofits or additional space, says the company.

Eltek Valere points out that the system offers distribution options including bulk termination, circuit breakers or fuses making it versatile enough for powering a wide range of equipment including critical utility switching, control and communications equipment. The Compact 130V DC Power System accepts AC input of 90V to 264V and also has battery interfaces for back-up power systems.
