October 10, 2005—The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has now made its Web site on the Superfund Program available in Spanish. Superfund en Espanol offers Spanish speakers who live near brownfields sites being revitalized under the Superfund program the information and tools necessary for meaningful community participation during the cleanup process.
The Web site gives information on the diverse technologies used at Superfund sites, such as pump and treat systems and soil vapor extraction; documents on Superfund’s community involvement program; fact sheets on the environmental cleanup process of hazardous substances; information on technical assistance grants; a bilingual glossary of common terms used in EPA’s Superfund Program; and 105 questions and answers on many Superfund topics.
