February 4, 2002—Facility Supply has introduced the Port-A-Tile, a leak diverter system specially designed for suspended ceilings. This maintenance tool forms an impervious panel that drop into 2 x 2 square suspended ceiling grids and is convertible to fit rectangular 2 x 4 style ceilings, replacing water damaged tiles and blending in with surrounding ceiling panels.
The Port-A-Tile design includes a 3/4″ vertical edge on all sides making it possible to join several Port-A-Tile panels to form a leak proof grid of any size or configuration while forming a reservoir holding up to 2 gallons of water, if constant drainage is not possible. Port-A-Tile also features an impact and sound absorbing mesh splash guard that eliminates splashing onto adjoining ceiling tiles and expanding the area of water damage. The splash guard also captures debris to prevent plugging of the outlet drain.
All water is diverted away by sliding a hose onto the 3/8″ barbed outlet so water can be channeled to a container, sink or drain.
