May 4, 2007—Halo Technologies, Inc., has introduced the Halo UVX Ultraviolet Vacuum, reportedly the only vacuum on the market that uses ultraviolet light to safely and instantly kill dust mites, molds, bacteria, viruses, lice, fleas, and other germs lurking in carpets. And, adds the company, it does so without using chemicals.
The Halo UVX uses the same ultraviolet light, UV-C, that has been used for more than 60 years by water treatment facilities to purify our drinking water and by hospitals to sterilize operating rooms and medical instruments.
UV Light in the “C” spectrum de-activates the DNA of dust mites, bacteria, viruses (including influenza), germs and mold destroying their ability to multiply. The patent-pending Halo UVX contains a UV-C bulb chamber at the bottom of the vacuum that instantly kills the unwanted pests lurking between fibers.
In addition to the UV-C light, the Halo UVX vacuum features: HEPA filtration; powerful suction design; telescoping handle for easy maneuverability and storage; 31-ft. power cord; powerful gear-driven system with no belts. It also is lightweight and has an electronic height adjuster for varying carpet piles.
The Halo UVX will be available in May 2007 on the Halo Web site at a MSRP of $399.
