Haworth’s redesigned fluorescent task lights can save 30% in energy costs

August 23, 2006—Haworth, Inc., has redesigned its fluorescent task lights, allowing customers to save up to 30% in energy costs, according to the global leader in the design and manufacturer of adaptable workspaces. Haworth’s manufacturing will also see energy and material cost reductions and is passing the savings on to customers: the lights will cost from 15% to 50% less than previous models.

Haworth’s manufacturing facility in Ludington, MI, will use 65% less steel and 50% less corrugated cardboard to manufacture and distribute the redesigned fluorescent task light, Haworth says. The new design also frees up manufacturing space and capacity, as well as reducing assembly parts from several thousand to fewer than 50.

The redesigned fluorescent task light platform is currently being installed on all Haworth systems products and was first previewed with Compose, Haworth’s systems furniture line introduced at NeoCon 2005. The lights were specifically designed to deliver the same light output and range as the previous design.
