February 25, 2002—Hewitt Associates, a global outsourcing and consulting firm, is upgrading to Peregrine Systems’ Action Request System 5.0 (AR System) platform. The recently introduced AR System 5.0 is a development; environment and application platform used to build and power flexible applications that automate and extend business processes. Among key features, explains Peregrine: powerful Web technology, which facilities Web authoring and deployment of customized applications; fast and efficient localization of applications; easy integration with external data sources; and enhanced user productivity through both Web and Windows interfaces.
By leveraging the AR System 5.0’s Web capabilities, Hewitt explains that it is developing a Web-based employee service request system on its corporate Intranet to more efficiently manage information systems (IS)-related requests and implement service-level-agreements. This new application, Hewitt adds, will provide a central management system to manage IT service requests, expedite the service process, prioritize the allocation of IT resources, and provide detailed reporting on the services rendered.
