December 4, 2002—The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) has announced that David Brady, acting president and chief executive officer following the departure of Dennis L. Longworth, has been appointed IFMAs president and CEO.

In a letter to IFMA Fellows and Past Presidents, IFMA Chair Sheila Sheridan, stated, “As a first step in choosing that new leadership, I was tasked with assembling a Blue Ribbon Panel, comprised of knowledgeable IFMA stakeholders. Based on its understanding of the many challenges facing our Association, this Panel has produced a dramatically refocused Position Description for IFMA’s President/CEO.” Few of you will be surprised to learn that David Brady was ranked as outstanding in virtually all aspects of the new Position Description.”

Brady, who has served as IFMAs executive vice president and chief operating officer, has 18 years of association management experience. He began his career at IFMA as director of membership services and also served as vice president of education and event management. Prior to joining IFMA, he had a nine-year career with the National Association of Credit Management (NACM), where he served as president of local affiliates in Michigan and Texas, and as NACMs national director of affiliate services in Columbia, Md., USA.
