Integrated security and building automation systems offered by Tridium and NovusEdge collaboration

March 7, 2005—Tridium Inc. and NovusEdge have announced the development of the first integrated console for automated security and building management systems to be built using the next generation Niagara Framework, Niagara(AX), the companies say.

NovusEdge is integrating the Niagara(AX) with its complete security suite that includes access control, video surveillance, environmental monitoring, and alert management. The companies also announced the completion of the initial implementation of its customer program using the new product.

Global or local events may create a need to change access and control of building systems. The flexibility to make these types of changes is inherent to Niagara(AX), so critical building level decisions are based on constantly changing real time security information, the companies say.

Niagara(AX) provides a unified development platform to easily build Internet-enabled products that control and manage diverse “smart” devices across the Internet in real time, according to company officials.

NovusEdge provides physical security solutions that control access and monitor environments and manage alerts to prevent damage or loss caused by malicious or unintentional actions and environmental conditions. To learn more, visit the company Web site.

Tridium is the inventor of the Niagara Framework, a software framework that integrates diverse systems and devices into a unified platform that can be managed and controlled in real time over the Internet using a standard web browser. For more on Tridium, visit the company Web site.
