InterfaceFLOR intros Convert carpet tile made with post-consumer yarn

June 25, 2008 InterfaceFLOR a leading manufacturer of carpet tile, has introduced Convert, a a new category of carpet tile that is manufactured with post-consumer yarn harvested through the company’s ReEntry 2.0 recycling program.

InterfaceFLOR introduced Convert in conjunction with NeoCon, the world’s largest contract interior design market event, held June 9-11 in Chicago. Like all InterfaceFLOR products, Convert styles are designed by David Oakey of David Oakey Designs.

“In designing our new Convert products made with post-consumer yarn, David Oakey took inspiration from great moments in fashion history, and drew parallels to the allure of vintage fashion and the yarns harvested through InterfaceFLOR’s closed loop recycling program,” explained Joyce LaValle, senior vice president of marketing for InterfaceFLOR.

According to Ms. LaValle, Convert styles represent a significant step toward fulfilling InterfaceFLOR’s Mission Zero promise, which calls for sustaining the environment by “taking nothing from the earth that we cannot easily and rapidly replace.”

MissionZero also promises to sustain society by “educating our employees and associates on our impact on the environment and helping them create solutions that reduce our footprint,” and to sustain “our economic health by creating products and solutions that are not only environmentally-friendly, but profitable as well.”
