July 11, 2007—ISO New England Inc., the not-for-profit organization that operates New England’s bulk power system and wholesale electricity markets, is helping residential and business consumers become more energy efficient this summer by launching its new online energy-saving tool kit, called Power Tools.
The tool kit provides consumers with information on improving energy efficiency in households and workplaces, including room-by-room energy-efficiency tips, helpful purchasing guidelines for home appliances and devices, information for businesses on running a more efficient workplace, and a “Test Your Energy IQ” quiz.
ISO New England introduced its Take Charge New England campaign last year as a part of a comprehensive plan to help ensure an adequate supply of electricity to serve New England’s consumers. Since then, ISO New England has provided consumers with tips to help them be more energy efficient and save money. The campaign was first launched in summer 2006 in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and expanded into New Hampshire and Rhode Island this year.
ISO New England Inc., an independent, not-for-profit corporation, helps promote the health of New England ‘s economy and protect the well-being of its people by ensuring the constant availability of electricity, today and for future generations. For more information, see the Web site.
