December 20, 2004— Jacobs Engineering Group has a contract from General Services Administration (GSA), National Capitol Region, to provide estimating and construction quality management services for the design and construction of a new headquarters building for the US Department of Transportation in Washington, DC. Contract value was not disclosed.
The building’s 1.35 million rentable square feet of space includes offices, auditorium, conference and training center, media/briefing center, child care, cafeteria, and retail. Jacobs’ services during the base building and tenant fit-out phases will include estimating, scheduling, project management, bid review, construction inspection, and commissioning oversight.
